Sister Mary Ann Rhames was born June 27, 1955 to the late Abraham and Daisy Bell Cobbs in St. George, SC. She was the oldest daughter of nine children.

She attended Williams Memorial School from elementary through middle school. She graduated from C.A. Brown High School.

Mary became a member of New Hope AME Church at an early age, where she served faithfully until her illness. She was a member of the Adult and Senior Choir, Missionary Board, Trustee Board and numerous other boards. She was a cheerful giver. "For God Loves A Cheerful Giver."

Mary had many setbacks due to her illnesses, but she fought a hard battle to the end. She was loving and giving to many.

She was formerly married to Joseph Rhames.

She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Owen (Carolyn) Summers.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Baron C. Cobbs of Greenwood, SC; one daughter, Janiquea Rhames of the home; a devoted friend, William Frasier of the home; four brothers, Robert (Ann) Summers of Bronx, NY, Billie Cobbs, Jr. of Fairfax, SC, Joseph (Petric) Martino of Sumter, SC and Ricky Martino of Summerville, SC; three sisters, Blondell (Gentry) Jamison of Summerville, SC, Thareta Frazier of Spartanburg, SC and Gloria Martino of St. George, SC; two granddaughters, Janisha K. Cobbs of Baltimore, MD and Brieanna Q. Cobbs of St. George, SC; one grandson, Jekysaum M. Lewis of the home; three aunts, Ella Mae Brothers of Moncks Coroner, SC, Sara Pearl Little and Thomsena (James) Davis both of St. George, SC; four uncles, Thomas Summers of Summerville, SC, Dan Cobbs of Palmetto, FL, Clifford Cobbs of Bradenton, FL and Leroy Cobbs of Brooklyn, NY; Wilbur (Liz) Bellinger; a devoted sister-in-law, Tanya Britt and brother-in-law, Julius Frazier; sisters-in-law, Min. Patricia (Alonzo) Johnson, Joann (Johnnie) Johnson, Min. Clarene (Min. Alfred) Singletary, Annette (Kenneth) Gaddist and Carolyn Rhames all of Harleyville, SC, Elizabeth (Andrew) Felder and Edna (Edwin) Boyd both of St. George, SC and Jacqueline Smalls of Summerville, SC; brothers-in-law, Dea.
