God saw a perfect angel and he said, "I need her, 'Mary' come on up to your heavenly home." She answered his call and went to her heavenly home on Wednesday morning, March 16, 2011 at her home.

Mrs. Mary Lee Jenkins Britt, the daughter of the late Albert and Maggie Jenkins, was born in Dorchester County, South Carolina, on December 5, 1921. She was educated in Dorchester County public schools.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Theodore Britt. This union was blessed with five children. Two sons preceded her in death—Willie James Britt and John Henry Britt.

Mary joined the Saint Mark Baptist Church at an early age and worked faithfully until her health failed. Mary served as Beginner's Class Sunday School teacher for many years, she served as treasurer of the Willing Workers, President of the Gospel Choir, member of the Pastor's Aide and Missionary Society.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, Theodore, Jr. (Mary Ann), of Saint George, South Carolina, James (Rosa) of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Harry (Gwen) of Greenville, South Carolina; three daughters, Eva Ruth Henderson, Brooklyn, New York, Mary Evelyn Archibald, Saint George, South Carolina and Yvonne Britt-Miller, Ladson, South Carolina; one brother, Albert (Rosa), Saint George, South Carolina; five sisters, Rumell Brown, Etta James and Maggie Primus all of Saint George, South Carolina, Jannie (Norman) Brown, Holly Hill, South Carolina and Elease Spells, Washington, DC; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed dearly, but this is God's will and it must be done.
