Marvin Phillip Wamer was born Nov. 29,1957 to the late Nellie Rose Wamer Bussey and John (Buck) Britt. He transitioned on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at his residence after a brief illness.

Marvin was educated in the Public Schools of Dorchester County. He graduated from St. George High School - the class of 1976. Marvin attended Shaw University and then migrated to New York, N.Y. After relocating back to St. George, SC, he began working with Sanders Brothers in construction for many years. At an early age he joined St. Mark Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death are his parents - Nellie Rose Wamer Bussey and John Britt; his grandparents, James Wamer and Louis Winningham Wamer who raised him.

Marvin leaves to cherish his fond memories: his stepmother, Lucille Britt, one sister, Angela Burrell, California; aunts-Ada Wamer, Eva Syphrett, Louise Long, and Christine Primus; uncles-Allen Gene Wamer, Frank Wamer, Deacon Emmett (Dorothy) Britt, and Allen Gene Britt; two nephews, Christopher and Samuel Burrell, California, a very devoted cousin and caretaker, Jeanette Berry Tracy; a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
