Mrs. Marilyn Smith Brooks daughter of the late Odom Smith and Abbie Lee Gadson Smith was born April 28, 1957. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning May 25, 2022.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

She was educated in the public schools of St. George. She was a 1975 graduate. She was united in marriage to Dennis Edward Brooks for 38 years. She loved to talk, and she never met a stranger. She loved her pets her beloved dog, Peanut and her cat, JoJo.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her husband Dennis E. Brooks, her loving godchildren Trenton Neals of St. George, SC and Ariana Glenn of Summerville, SC, her caring brothers and sisters, Odom Smith of Dorchester, SC Richard Smith of St. George, SC, Howard (Catherine) of Ebert, Colorado, Vandora Davis, Jeanette Smith, and Katherine Neals all of St. George, SC, one brother-in-law, Marion Brooks of Harleyville, SC, three sisters -in-law, Annie (Eddie) Brooks­Dailey of Orangeburg, SC, Lessie Cook-Brooks of Rockhill, SC and Patricia (Charles) Summerson of Holly Hill, SC, three aunts, Julia Benjamin of Orlando, FL, Doris Gadson of Miami, FL, Nancy (Johnny) Summers of Daytona Beach, FL, and one uncle, Johnny (Diane) Smith of Daytona Beach, FL, her best friend, Linda Moorer of Dorchester, SC, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
