Margaret Ann Walker Montgomery was the daughter of the late Ida Johnson and the late Money Walker.  She was born on May 9, 1937.  She attended the Public Schools in South Carolina and Washington, DC.

Margaret was joined in holy matrimony to the late Willie Montgomery.  Margaret accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and served faithfully at Enon Baptist Church in Washington, DC where she served on the usher board for many years.  After returning to her roots of South Carolina, Margaret joined St. Stephens United Methodist Church.  Margaret was a beautiful lady, known for her love for flowers.  Her first love was for God, her family, and people in general.  She was the Hayes Street and Hunt Place elderly mother where she fed everyone that walked the ally.  Margaret worked at the White House many years and retired from Kirkland and Ellis Law Firm, after many years of work.  She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and all-around person.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, one son, and four sisters.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memories, her loving daughter and caretaker, Lowandar Montgomery of the home; two sons, Melvin (Ann) Montgomery and Willie Lewis (Christine) Montgomery of Washington, DC; one sister, Ms. Nellie Ruth Glover of Saint George, SC; one brother, Mr. Augusta (Ruth) Johnson of Washington, DC; four sisters-in-law, Rose Jefferson, Marylee Montgomery-Berry of Bowman, SC, Annie Montgomery of Columbia, SC and Mary Montgomery of Washington, DC; one brother-in-law, Mr. George W. Montgomery of Bowman, SC; one special daughter-in-law, Ms. Monica Montgomery of Washington, DC; nine grandkids; sixteen great grandkids; four great-great grandkids; four special extended family members, Mr. Joseph Reeder of Washington, DC, Ms. Allen of VA, Ms. Bessy Johnson and Mr. Roosevette Goodwin of Saint George, SC; a special caretaker/helper, Ms. Earthamay Keitt of Saint George, SC; a host of other relatives and friends.
