Lynette Laverne Toomer Britt, the daughter of the late Madjia and Ruby Mae Toomer was born August 9, 1957 in Dorchester County, South Carolina.  God summoned her home on January 3, 2025.

At an early age, Lynette joined St. Mark Baptist Church.  She was a lifelong member of St. Mark Baptist Church, where she devoted many years to her faith and the community by serving on the usher board.  She held the office of treasure until her health declined.

Lynette graduated from St. George High School in 1976 and later attended Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Lynette affectionately called by her husband; Linnie Pooh was married to Michael Britt on December 23, 1989.  They were happily married for thirty-five years.

Lynette loved watching TV, especially Walker, Texas Ranger.  She was also known for always keeping her house immaculate.

Lynette retired from the Coastal Center where she provided care for special needs individuals.

Lynette was preceded in death by her sister, Hattie Toomer and her brother, Andrew Toomer.

Lynette leaves to cherish her fond memories, her loving husband Michael Britt, three sisters, Mattie Wolfe, Iris (Yomi) Soyebo, and Angelia Norris (James) Owens; four brothers, Carl (Rhudene)Toomer, Joseph (Tina) Toomer, Perry (Aretha) Toomer and Donald Toomer; one special nephew, Perry Lucky; three sisters-in-law, Verberlyn (Joseph) Berry, Willerma Britt, Evelyn Britt and Minnie Britt; brother-in-law, Leroy Britt; aunts, Fannie Kearney, Annie L. Britt, and Betty Bey; uncle, John (Corine) Britt; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
