Mr. Lurenda Wade, born on October 1, 1955, in Dorchester County, was the cherished son of the late Alton Wade, Sr. and Jannie Lee Davis Wade. On Monday, June 10, 2024, after a brief illness, Lurenda peacefully passed away at his second home in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was lovingly known to his children as "Dad," to his family as "Red," to his friends as "Peanut," and to his colleagues and others as "Lou."

Lurenda was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County, graduating in 1974 from St. George High School in St. George, S.C. Following high school, he promptly enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his military service, he received numerous honors and traveled many places. Lurenda was a Veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He retired from the United States Air Force on June 30, 1994 as a Tech Sergeant/ E-6 after serving 20 years and 25 days. After his military career, Lou worked several years as a contractor and eventually settled in Ogden, Utah, close to his children, and pursued a career as a Federal Civilian at the Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, Utah where he retired after 18 years.

Red had a passion for customizing vintage cars and trucks. A Harley Davidson enthusiast, he loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Red also delighted in cooking for his family and renovating houses.

Red was a devoted father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His family will deeply miss his sense of humor, storytelling, handyman skills, and culinary talents. He spoiled his family by doing whatever he could to make them happy.

Peanut's legacy of love and care will forever remain in our hearts.

Lurenda leaves to cherish his most precious memories: Four devoted sons, Jace Wade of Las Vegas, Nevada; Alonzo (Whitley) Wade and Clay Solis of Ogden, Utah; Cole (Amber) Orgill of North Las Vegas, Nevada; Five precious grandchildren; Oakley Glad and Blakely Glad of Ogden, Utah.  Bronson Orgill, Brielle Orgill, Clayton Orgill of North Las Vegas, Nevada; Four loving siblings, Catherine "Jackie" Risher of St. George, S.C; Alton Wade, Jr. of Warner Robbins, Georgia; Carolyn Walton of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Herline Wade of Greenville, S.C.; A sweet aunt, Minnie Mae Davis Sanders of Burlington, New Jersey, and a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
