Lue Ellen Boyd Griffin of St. George, South Carolina peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, SC.

Lue Ellen, the oldest child to the union of the late Preston and Mallvina Brown Boyd, was born June 17, 1949 in Dorchester County, South Carolina.

Lue Ellen was united in Holy Matrimony to Raymond Griffin on July 21, 1968 and to this union, four children were born.

Lue Ellen attended Jenkins Hill and graduated with the class of 1968. She was a devoted assistant manager of Days Inn in St. George, for 11 years. In her spare time, she loved to decorate, sew for herself and others, as well as cruise around the Caribbean Islands. Lue Elle professed her faith in God at an early age and was a faithful servant on Stewardess Board # 3 at Bethel A.M.E. Church.

Lue Ellen was preceded in death by a son, Tyrone B. Griffin, four siblings, Leon Boyd, Timothy Boyd, Willie Books, Jr. and Debra A. Boyd, father-in-law, Will T. Griffin and sister-in-law, Jeanette Hicks.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted and loving husband, Raymond Bernard Griffin; two sons, Donta O. Griffin (grandson) and Raymond Jermaine (Theresa) Griffin; two daughters, Tonya R. Griffin and Shameka A. (Milton) Veasley; mother-in-law, Mrs. Lizzie Griffin; five sisters, Lizzie Adams, Madalyn Milton, Inez Dean, Linda Gayle Boyd and Jeanette B. (Roderick) Johnson; two brothers, Malcolm Al Boyd and Ronald (Imari) Boyd; three sisters-in-law, Gladys (Rev. Frank) Moses, Betty Ann (Felton) King and Bernice Griffin; four grandchildren, Ty'ron L. Griffin, T'eria Griffin, Germaine Griffin and D'asia Griffin; two great grandchildren, Zakylah Griffin and Keziah Griffin; five aunts, Deaconess Martha Brown, Dora Edwards, Rachel Mack, Joyce (Junior) Neal and Rev. Lue Ella Smith; three uncles, Julius (Annie) Boyd, Clifford Brown and Newton Brown, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends along with two very, very devoted sister friends, Hattie Mae Elmore and Deloris Street.
