Mother Louise Bryant was released into Heaven on May 7, 2024, at Carlyle Senior Care of Blackville, SC. She was born in Dorchester County on October 24,1924, as the second oldest of six children to the late Thomas and Wilhelmina Lary. She became a member of St. Daniel United Methodist Church at a very early age where she gave her life to Christ and served as a Sunday school teacher and Usher board member. At the age of 19, she met the love of her life the late Emery Bryant and on July 26, 1944, they married. To their union, three children were born, Nellie Bell, Carrie Bell, and Clyde. They all resided in Dorchester, SC and in the early 1950s, they moved to Bronx, NY where she later joined Epworth United Methodist Church. It was at Epworth UMC where she became a communion steward.

Along with being a steward for the Lord, she earned a license to be a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Louise was not only a CNA, but she was also in charge of the upkeep of the building in which her and her family lived. Louise was always a woman of grace lending a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a hand in raising many of her family members along with being a mother-figure to her children's friends. Louise loved children, especially her grandchildren, Jehan, Anthony, and Kristin. She assisted with raising her oldest grandson Jehan while living in New York and then in the 1980s, her and her husband moved back to South Carolina with her daughter Carrie. She was later joined by her eldest daughter Nellie, her granddaughter Kristin and occasionally her niece/Goddaughter Tomekia Wright-Williams. After Louise's move back to South Carolina, she re-joined St. Daniel UMC to continue serving as a communion steward until she was physically unable. Louise loved church and would attend Sunday School sessions, Sunday services, and various gospel programs and revivals at St. Daniel and surrounding churches. As time went on, Louise became the "Mother of St. Daniel UMC". Louise truly loved the Lord and would always be caught singing a hymnal or humming a tune around the house. Aside from attending church, before Louise became physically unable to move about, she enjoyed gardening. Louise was said to have a "green thumb" and every plant she touched would grow. She also enjoyed doing yard work, walking, getting her hair done, watching her favorite television shows, spending time sitting outside on her porch reading, and spending time with her family. She resided in Dorchester County and was looked after by her granddaughter Kristin until her health further declined in 2022. Louise was loved by many and will truly be missed by many. She has now gained her wings and joined her husband, Emery Bryant and her two daughters Nellie Bell Tolbert and Carrie Bell Bryant.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: her granddaughter, Kristin (Marvin) Hodges of Charleston, SC, her son, Clyde (Ruthel) Bryant of Brooklyn, NY, her two grandsons Jehan (Adory) Bryant of Manhattan, NY and Anthony Bryant of Brookyn, NY, one great-granddaughter Alba Bryant of Manhattan, NY, one adopted sister, Georgia Mae Carn of Dorchester, SC, one sister-in-law, Florence Lary of Ridgeville, SC, one Goddaughter Tomekia (Gerald) Wright-Williams of Columbia, SC, two honorary grandchildren, Ja'Saun Johnson and Carolaysia Hopkins of Summerville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
