Louis Carn, born in Dorchester County, South Carolina, entered this world as the beloved son of Junior and Martha Carn. On March 9, 2026, he completed his earthly journey, remembered by all who knew him as a man of faith, & unwavering devotion to his family and community.

For the love of God, we honor the life of Louis Carn, a man whose faith was not just spoken but lived. A devoted member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in St. George, South Carolina, Louis served faithfully on the Trustee Chairman, Church Choir, Kitchen Committee, the Lay Servant School Kitchen Committee, and as a proud member of the United Methodist Men in Ministry. Louis was a praying man—steady, sincere, and unwavering in his belief that God hears and answers. His service was never about recognition; it was an offering of gratitude and devotion. Truly, he was a man after God's own heart.

For the love of family, we celebrate the life of Louis Carn, who found his greatest joy in the home he built. He was united in marriage to Maggie Mae Carson Carn for 63 blessed years, and he transitioned from this life on their anniversary date, sealing their love story with divine symmetry.

Their union was blessed with six children and he was a devoted father to his family. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 63 years Maggie Mae Carn

• Roberta Newton (Gilbert); • Henry Carn (Amanda); • Lawrence Carn

• Sandra Carn McCord (Derrick); Three who preceded him in death: James Carn, Leroy Carn, and Bianca Bodrick. He cherished his daughter‑in‑law Tammie Carn.

Louis also reared four grandchildren as his own children:

• Andrew Carn • Tamica Carn • Demonte Carn • Quasian Carn

His legacy expanded across generations with 36 grandchildren, 58 great‑grandchildren, and 2 great‑great‑grandchildren.

He shared lifelong bonds with his siblings:

• Brothers: Joe Carn, Lee Carn and Ulysee Carn

• Sisters: Mary Allen (Dave), Valerie Brandley, and the late Virginia DeLee - passed away 3 days after her brother.

He also held dear his sister‑in‑law Lauren Frazier, brother‑in‑law Richard Carson (Eartha), and special friends: Isaac Jamison and Bubba Grayton, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Family was Louis's heartbeat.

For the love of the community, we remember Louis Carn as a man whose presence brought joy, unity, and purpose to St. George. He was a proud member of the Golden Bells Singers and founder of the Carnette Gospel Group, made up of his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He loved music and loved playing the guitar, using it to uplift and inspire.

Louis served through mentorship and leadership—active in the D.A.D.S. Program, coach of the Midget Basketball Team, and coach/player for the St. George Metts Baseball Team. He was a Master Mason with Bowman Lodge #4, a member of the Soul Stars Motorcycle Club, and he enjoyed playing spades with his community friends.

In his early years, he was a business owner, operating Carn's Lounge, a gathering place that became a cornerstone of fellowship and connection.

Louis gave his community the best of himself, and his impact is woven into the fabric of St. George.

"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." — 2 Thessalonians 3:10

For the love of work, we honor Louis Carn, a man whose work ethic was shaped by responsibility and sacrifice. As a young boy, he left school in the sixth grade to help his mother care for his siblings. This early responsibility shaped his strength and determination, and it inspired him to return to school later in life through the Adult Learning Center of South Carolina.

After caring for his siblings, Louis moved to Mims, Florida, where he worked in the orange groves to provide for his family. Later, he returned to St. George, working at The Regional Medical Center, where he met his great friend Isaac Jamison, and eventually retiring from Dorchester School District Four as the Maintenance and Janitorial Supervisor under Matty Connelly.

He mentored countless children, walked the halls with purpose, and served every job with pride.

For the love of his legacy, we honor the life of Louis Carn, a man who lived with purpose, walked with humility, and loved with a full heart. His legacy is not measured in years, but in the lives he touched—his family, his church, his community, and every person who crossed his path. Louis leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, hard work, and love. His life was a testimony, his journey a blessing, and his memory a gift that will continue to shine for generations to come.
