Sister Malinda Dixon-Jenkins was born May 8, 1952, to the late J.D. and Fannie Mae Dixon in Brooklyn, New York. She entered into eternal life on Monday, October 10, 2016 after an extended illness.

Sister Malinda affectionately known to all as "Linda" joined Tabernacle Baptist Church in Brownsville, NY at an early age.

Sister Malinda attended and graduated from the Public Schools of New York City. In 1976 she enlisted in the United Sates Air Force where she proudly served for four years. In 1980 Malinda married Dennis Jenkins. To this union they had one child. After having served her country, Malinda furthered her education by receiving her Bachelors Degree and her Master's Degree.

Malinda relocated to St. George, SC, and joined St. Mark Baptist Church where she sang on the Jubilee Choir and served on the Usher Board. She was also a member of the Lovely Hill Association Convention Choir where she served as vice-president.

Sister Malinda worked at the Department of Health and Environmental Services (DHEC) for a number of years. She was very active in the community. She served on Board of Directors for the Family Health Center.

Sister Malinda was preceded in death by one brother, Malvin Dixon.

Sister Malinda will be forever remembered by her loving son, Duntez Jenkins; granddaughter, Duntezia Lamaria and Cleonna, whom she loved as her own grandchild; future daughter-in-law, Amber Nicole; one brother, John Dixon; three aunts, Clara Britt, Sue Craig and Pearline Glass; two uncles, Ordie Brown and John K. Brown; three close friends she called her sisters, Ramona, Kim and Corda; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
