Mr. Lewis Carl Primus "LC" departed this life and entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 7, 2013. He is now at peace with our Lord.

Lewis was born May 29, 1945 in St. George, SC to the late Mr. Peter Primus and Mrs. Myzine Primus Guess. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mr. Johnnie Primus.

Lewis was reared in a Christian home and was affiliated with Bethel Baptist Church at a young age. He was educated in the public schools of St. George, SC. He lived his adult life in Brooklyn, New York; Seattle, Washington; Jacksonville, Florida before settling back home in St. George. He worked for several different employers that included Boeing Company, Meltec Foundry and H. Mitchell before retirement.

Lewis was an individual that spoke his opinion in a direct manner so you clearly knew where he stood. He cared about people and made sure to visit when there was a need. He also had a hidden talent known by few. He had a beautiful voice and sang when he thought no one was listening. He showed extraordinary courage throughout his illness.

Lewis loved fishing and repairing old cars. He told many stories about the fish caught and the fun he had with his best friend Elden Williams, cousin, Nathaniel Primus and his other buddies. He also spent many days with his cousin, Rudolph Primus, and Elden trying to determine how to repair old cars on their last legs and usually, they solved the problems.

He especially enjoyed the company of his baby brother, Rev. Robert Primus, whom he always had some type of advice to give as the older sibling. Many special conversations took place between the two as they bonded. These were precious moments to him. In recent months, he looked forward to a delicious breakfast each morning prepared by his Auntie Fannie Kearney and eagerly awaited a visit from his sister, Angie Syphrett, who talked about happenings of the day as she gave him his next meal. He was treated like a King by his mom, Myzine, as well as other family members. In addition, Lewis enjoyed a unique loving relationship with his nephew, Sidney Primus, and niece, Ashley Primus who lived nearby.

Lewis leaves to cherish his memories; devoted mother, Myzine Guess, St. George, SC; dedicated brother and sisters: Rev Robert Primus and Angie Syphrett, of St. George, SC; Mary (Maurice) Jones and Beverly (Nathaniel) Jackson of Jacksonville, FL; caring aunt Fannie Kearney of St. George, SC; loving friend, Beulah Harrison, Holly Hill, SC; a host of nieces and nephews, aunts; other sorrowing relatives and friends.

During his lengthy illness, Lewis appreciated the love and support received from family and friends to the end. Lewis "LC" is gone from our midst but memories of him will linger forever.
