Obituary

Lewis "Bubba" Moore was born June 28, 1952 in Reevesville, SC, the son of the late Benjamin Berry and Thomasina Moore Kelly. Lewis was reared by his loving grandparents, the late James (Martha) Moore.

As a young adult, he attended St. Phillip Christian Church in Reevesville. He was educated in the Dorchester County Public School System and graduated from Williams Memorial High School. After high school, he attended Automotive Trade School and Nielsen Electronics Institute in Charleston, SC. He joined the military (United States Army) in 1972 and honorably served his country for 20 years, where he received numerous awards and citations. Following his military career, he worked as an engine and heavy equipment mechanic in Kuwait, serving as a contractor under the Department of Defense.

Lewis was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Benny Berry, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Thomasina of Reevesville, SC; two children, Louis Moore, Jr. and Shante Moore both of Reevesville, SC; two stepchildren he loved and cared for from a previous marriage, Kathy Perry and Betty Perry; two grandchildren, Tiana and Taj Moore; eight sisters, Martha (Joseph) Simmons, Lillie Mae Robertson, Louise Mays, Susie Rucker, Irene Kelly, Minnie (Ron) Prescod, Percilla Kelly and Ada (Robert) Fogel; three brothers, James (Marilyn) Kelly, Wesley Kelly and Marion (Nicole) Kelly; a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. Lewis was loved by everyone he came in contact with and made many life-long friends. He will be sorely missed by all.
