Mrs. Lether Britt Thomas, the daughter of the late Louis and Susie Britt departed this life on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 after an extended illness.  Lether was born on April 23, 1927 in the Texas Community of St. George, SC.

Lether attended the Public Schools of Dorchester County.  At an early age she joined St. Mark Baptist Church.  Lether moved to New York to make a better life for herself.  While there, she joined Pilgrim Baptist Church where she became an usher.

Lether worked at Kings Brook Hospital where she retired and then relocated back to St. George, SC.  Upon her return, she rejoined St. Mark Baptist Church where she was an active member of the church.  She served as an usher, choir member and as a member of the Pastor's Aid Board.  She was also a member of the Convention Choir.

Lether loved to dress and look good.

Lether was married to the late Curtis Thomas.  To this union one son was born, Curtis Lewis Thomas, whom preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Henry and Earnest and six sisters, Mary, Bertha, Jessie, Emma, Vernese, and Corine.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, five grandchildren, Anthony Thomas, Elliott Thomas, Aleitha Thomas, Dwayne Thomas and Jermaine Thomas who affectionately called her BaBa; one daughter-in-law, Gloria Thomas; eleven great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; three sisters, Frances (Max) Britt Folds, Susie Queen (Rev. General) Britt and Nellie Rose Primus; two brothers, Bennie (Rose) Britt and Deacon Paul Britt; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
