Mr. Lee "Bub" Britt was born on April 3, 1923 in Dorchester County to the late Nathan Britt and Hattie Stevens Britt.

Deacon Britt entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 29, 2009, at the St. George Health Care Center after an extended illness.

As a youth, he was member of Greenville United Methodist Church. In his adult years, he received Jesus Christ as personal savior and was a dedicated member and Deacon of St. Matthews Baptist Church.

He was previously married to Vera Shuler Britt, who preceded him in death, for 59 years. During his years of employment, he worked in several capacities until he retired from the Cement Plant in Holy Hill.

He leaves to remember his loving memories, his devoted wife, Iris Newsome Britt; his step-son, Robert "Bobby" Britt of Brooklyn, NY; his twin sister, Hazel Bunche of Reevesville, SC; one brother, K.J. Britt, preceded him in death; one sister-in-law, Sara Britt of Reevesville, SC; step-children, Ernestine (Ed) Sykes and Heyward (Patricia) Newsome of Seaboard, NC, Darnell Newsome of Margarettsville, NC, Gladys Newsome of North Charleston and Evelyn (Terry) Rouse of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a devoted niece, Pearl Bunche of Reevesville, SC; two nephews, Frances Shuler of Reevesville, SC and Simon Bunch of St. Petersburg, FL.; two special cousins, Nell Kelly of Columbia, SC and Corrie (Ben) Simmons of Reevesville, SC; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
