Mr. Lawton Perry, Jr., son of the late Lawton Perry, Sr. and Marie Smith Perry, was born on December 7, 1940 in Harleyville, SC. He entered into eternal rest at Trident Medical Center on Wednesday, June 29, 2016.
Affectionately known as "Bub", Lawton was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County. At an early age he joined Elem Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life he joined The House of Prayer and Praise Baptist Church in Harleyville, where he served faithfully on the usher board until his health failed him.
Prior to his illness, he was employed by Brosnan Forest and also did some farming with his dear friend, John L. Parker. He was a great baseball player and was an exceptional dresser who took pride in how he looked and carried himself. He would want to be remembered most of all for his love of God and his family. He often spoke of his private conversations with God and how he wanted to make heaven his home.
Lawton leaves to cherish his fond memories: his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Perry of the home; one daughter, Mary Elaine (Rudolph) Duggins, Summerville, SC; four sons, James MacArthur Perry, Moncks Corner, SC, Ronnie L. Perry of the home, Dennis (Katherine) Mays, Kepner, Texas, and Brandon (B.J.) Perry, Summerville, SC; one sister, Nancy P.(Benjamin) Laribo, Summerville, SC; four sisters-in-law, a very loved and devoted ex-daughter-in-law, Mrs. Juanita Perry, St. George, SC; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
