Larry Lemon, known as 'Snook", the third son of the late Mr. Elkin and Mrs. Edna Lemon entered this life on August 3, 1941, in Grover, South Carolina. He made his transition and departed this life on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Larry joined St. Luke United Methodist Church at an early age and after attending Williams Memorial High School in St. George, South Carolina, he relocated to Brooklyn, New York. While in Brooklyn, Snook worked at Anderson Construction, Lee Joe's Construction, and South Shore Tire Company where he served faithfully in many capacities. After working for many years in New York, he decided to retire to a warm climate and in 2004, moved south making Atlanta, his new home.
Larry lived a happy life. He loved to eat at restaurants, attend theater shows on Broadway, and concerts. One of his favorite groups was Gladys Knight and the Pips. He also enjoyed watching the New York Mets. Snook loved to be out and about just having a good time.
While living in New York, Larry became the beloved father of four children
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elkin and Edna Lemon; and two older brothers, Josh Lemon and Wilford Lemon.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Michelle Ford of Horseheads, New York and Jaylyn Lemon of Brooklyn, New York; two sons, Russell Guillot of Brooklyn, New York and Chris Ford of Horseheads, New York; grandchildren, Darion Guillot (Pee-Pop), Destiny Ford and Jaxson Guillot; one brother, Arnold (Lois) Lemon of St. George, South Carolina. He also leaves to mourn his passing, the devoted staff caregivers of Golden Living Center in Dunwoody, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
