Obituary

Kenneth James Britt was born March 8, 1966 in Charleston, SC to the late Mr. KJ and Mrs. Sarah P. Britt. Kenneth departed this life on September 1, 2026.

Kenneth was a very dedicated person. He loved his family, especially his mom! He always made sure to make himself available to help anyone with anything. And he always did it with a smile. He had a wonderful quiet spirit.

Throughout his adult life, Kenneth worked various jobs. While he lived in Florida for a number of years, he was a driver with the Department of Sanitation. Once he relocated back to South Carolina, he worked as an 18- wheeler truck driver. His most current employer was Sanders Brothers Construction. He always made sure his work was done and in order.

Kenneth was an active member of New Grace United Methodist Church where he served on the Trustee Board, Usher Board, Finance Committee and United Methodist Men. He loved the Lord with all his heart.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Sue Lodkey.

Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Sarah Pecola Britt; his sisters, Carrie Hopkins, and Deborah Lary (James); brother, KJ Britt, Jr.; brother-in-law, John Lodkey; aunts, Corine Britt, Joann James, and Fannie Spells; uncles, James Shuler Lemon (Lillian), Glen Lemon (Rosa Ellen), and Clay Spells (Phoebe); along with many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kenneth will always be remembered for his smile, willingness to always help, jokes, and his love for hanging out with so many of his special and close family and friends.
