Julia Mae Ladson Ramsey, the daughter of the late Eugene and Alice B. Ladson was born March 20, 1945. She entered into eternal rest at 3:04 p.m. on April 1, 2014 at Colleton Medical Center.
Julia received her formal education at Kennedy High School in Harleyville, SC in the class of 1979. She worked at the Holiday Inn in St. George, SC for thirteen years.
She moved to New York City and continued her employment as a domestic worker.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Kyle Ramsey in November 1965. To this union, three children were born.
As a child, she was a member of Greater St. Paul AME Church and continued serving the Lord at Greater St. Paul. She was a faithful and loyal member of the usher board. She also served on the Stewardess Board and Class # 9 with Sister Linza Britt.
She retired from Dorchester County Disability Board of Special Needs. After retiring, Julia had ample time to do what she loved best, fishing. She enjoyed fishing and talking to her dearest friends, chatting on the telephone about the soap operas.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Ramsey, Sr.
She leaves to mourn two sons, Kyle (Linda) Ramsey, Jr. of Columbia, SC and Cleon (Donna Marie) Ramsey of Dorchester, SC; one daughter, Melinda Jones of Dorchester, SC; one sister, Blondell L. Ross of Dorchester, SC; one brother, Walter (Donna) Davis of Harleyville, SC; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom loved her dearly and will miss her.
