Joseph Herman (AKA "Pete") Williams , son of the late Mr. Mrs. Wilbert (Minnie Ruth White) Williams, was born on May 4, 1964, in Harleyville, SC. After a brief illness, he transitioned into eternal rest on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Trident Medical Center of North Charleston, SC.

Joseph grew up in the Spring Branch "AKA" Smoke House rural area of Harleyville. At an early age, he joined Greater St. Paul AME Church. He received his early education at Jenkins Hill Elementary School and graduated from Harleyville-Ridgeville High School.

Joseph was a hardworking man who never wanted to be unemployed. After leaving high school, he went to work for Infinger Lumber Mill and Upchurch Lumber Mill, both of Rosinville, SC. Some years later, he worked for the Husqvarna Industrial Plant of Orangeburg, SC, and then felt the need to take a permanent position as a line technician at the Linq Industrial Plant of Summerville, SC, until the plant closed. Although that job closure left him between jobs for a moment, he continued to have faith in his search for another job. He was finally hired to work as a car detailer for the McElveen Car Dealership of Summerville, SC. He truly loved his job and was happy to be a member of the McElveen's employees.

Joseph was united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Darlene Neals, on September 24, 1997. They brought to the marriage four wonderful children, Kawaii Cobbs, Ashley, Andrew, and Anthony Neals.

J oseph was a loving husband and a caring father and grandfather who held special concern and love for his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his cousins and friends. He loved detailing cars and helping others whenever he could do a favor.

Joseph was preceded in death by his brothers, Baby Bruce Williams and Vincent Street.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Darlene Williams; four children: Kawaii (Ricky) Cobbs of Summerville, SC, Ashley Neals and Anthony (Nyasia) Neals of St. George, SC, and Andrew (Zannette) Neals of Holly Hill, SC; two brothers: Jimmy (Laura)Williams of Harleyville, SC and Wilbert Williams, Jr. of Harleyville, SC; two sisters: Carolyn Street-Elmore of Greenville, SC and Barbara Street of St. George, SC; one aunt, Rita B. Freeman of Holly Hill, SC; mother-in-law, Daisy Bell Neals of St. George, SC; brother-in-law, Robert Neals of St. George, SC; sister-in-law, Eartha Dillard of Bowman, SC; eleven grandchildren; special cousin and friend, Herbert Johnson (Goose Creek, SC), two close friends: Roosevelt Goodwin (New York) and Clifford Johnson (St. George
