Obituary

On August 25, 2017, God stopped by Strong Memorial Hospital. He whispered to him "take My hand, Joseph, let me lead you to the unknown land, where we will feast on milk and honey"; after an extended illness, while being surrounded by his loving family.

Joseph Rhames was born on August 13, 1953. He was born to the late Rev. Easu and Cora Rhames. He was a graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School in Harleyville, SC. Joseph was gainfully employed with the Sailsberry Brick Yard until his health declined.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, John Rhames, Shelton Rhames, Burnet Rhames, and Ronald Rhames; three sisters, Arie B. Wright, Cora Bell Rhames, and Edna R. Boyd

He leaves to cherish his precious and loving memories: one daughter, Janiquea Rhames; one son, Barron Cobbs; two grandchildren, Jekysaun Lewis and Marlayshia Daniel; step mother, Anna Laura Rhames; six sisters, Patricia (Alonzo) Johnson, Claireen (Alfred) Singletary, Annette (Kenneth) Gaddist, Joann (Johnnie) Johnson all of Harleyville, SC, Elizabeth (Andrew) Felder of St. George, SC and Jacqueline R. Smalls of Summerville, SC; three brothers, Esau (Mary) Rhames of Long Island, NY, Herman Rhames and Alvin Rhames both of Dorchester, SC; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Rhames; one devoted friend, Patricia Stewart; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
