On August 12, 1955, Mr. Joseph Wilson Brown affectionately known as "Joe-Blow" was born to the late Mr. Wilson Brown and the late Mrs. Willie Bell Scott Brown in Dorchester County, South Carolina.

Joseph was reared in Harleyville, South Carolina and attended the public schools of Dorchester County. He graduated from Harleyville-Ridgeville High School in 1976. At an early age, Joseph joined the House of God Church where he received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the late Elder George Wright.

Joseph learned at an early age the true meaning of hard work and responsibility. Over the years, he worked as a farm laborer and a construction worker. He was also a very dependable "handy man" throughout the community. He was a kind hearted, quiet, generous, loving and friendly person. He was admired and respected by many. He will always be remembered for his easygoing spirit.

In July 14, 1978, Joseph married Quinnie James of Holly Hill, South Carolina. From this union two children were born, Joseph, Jr. and Kevin Alexander. Blake Alexander, a grandson was also born.

On October 22, 2014 at 3:15 pm in the afternoon, Joseph made his final transition from this life's journey and answered the call of the Lord. Four siblings preceded him in death: Mrs. Mildred Johnson (James-deceased), Mr. William Brown, Mr. Calvin Brown (Deloris) and Mr. Roger Brown and Mr. Anthony James, a brother-in-law.
Although he's gone and not among us, he will never be forgotten.

John) Smith, Mrs. Marilyn (Richard) Neal, Mrs. Ruth Ann (Kirby-deceased) Little, Mrs. Christine (Herbert) Owens all of Harleyville, SC, Mrs. Inez (Bernard) Haynes of Dorchester, Mrs. Cynthia (Anthony) Morris of Summerville, SC and Ms. Janice Brown of North Charleston, SC; three brothers, Mr. Ralph (Mary) Brown of Dorchester, SC, Mr. Woodrow Brown of Harleyville, SC and Mr. Roscoe Brown of Charlotte, NC; five sisters-in-law, Ms. Josephine Crook of Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Mildred (Leroy) James-Moss of Norwood, GA, Mrs. Ella Mae (Isaac) Pinckney of Cross, SC, Mrs. El'Nora (Daniel-deceased) Bryant and Ms. Gertha James both of Holly Hill, SC; three brothers-in-law, Thomas (Camela) of Holly Hill, SC, Mr. Otis ((Charlene) James of Philadelphia, PA, and Mr. Odell (Gloria) James of Seattle, WA; three best friends, Mr. Joe Green of Columbia, SC, Ms. Janice Gardner and Ms. Idella Hankerson both of Harleyville, SC; a special friend of the family, Mr. Lester Davis of St. George, SC; extremely devoted nieces, nephews and other relatives; as well as loving and supportive friends of the Harleyville and St. Paul Community.
