Johnnie Stewart was born on October 18, 1956, Reevesville, South Carolina to the late Willie and Queenie Simmons Stewart. Johnnie attended Williams Memorial High School. Johnnie was a very soft spoken young man who demonstrated humility and respect for all.  Johnnie had a great love for his family and helping the elderly.  His career as a construction worker ended when he became disabled.

Johnnie had two (2) brothers who preceded him in death, Lorenzo and Willie C. Stewart and two (2) sisters, Mary Ann Stewart and Mattie Lee Hayes. He leaves to cherish his memories: three (3) sisters, Sharon Stewart, Queenie Stewart, and Geneva Highland of Brooklyn, New York; one(1) niece, Alecia Highland, Brooklyn, New York; five (5) nephews, Tyrone Hayes (Stephanie), Damien Hayes, Tyrell Ford, Terrence Hayes, and Brian Elitah of Brooklyn, New York; five (5) aunts, Mary Shinn, Charleston, South Carolina; Lottie Carlisle, Louisville, Kentucky; Dorothy Martin, Jamaica, New York; Mabel Stewart, Reevesville, South Carolina and Ollia Anderson, Brooklyn, New York; one (1) uncle, Joseph Stewart, Saint George; a host of other relatives and friends.
