Mr. Johnnie Jr Boyd was born August 11th, 1955 in Dorchester County to the late Johnny Boyd Sr and the late Mrs. Neomi Boyd. Preceded in death by his sisters Mary Ann Boyd and Barbara Boyd, brother-in-law Bruce Allen Floyd, and his daughter Mary Jo Rabon. Johnnie entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at MUSC, Charleston, SC.

Johnnie attended the public schools of Dorchester County. He was a graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School class of 1974. He was employed as a truck driver with Halls Trucking Company and Johnnie retired in 2012. Some of Johnnie's hobbies were watching Nascar racing, drag racing, and listening to music. Johnnie started the Band named Soul Drifters; he also played in the Band in the 1970's. Johnnie had many opportunities to expand his musical Journey.

Johnnie love attending church and spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his many wonderful and precious memories: His beloved wife Mary Boyd; three sons Homer Jr Rabon, Cross SC, Johnnrique Boyd (Ashley), Atlanta, GA and Willie Rabon, Cross SC; five daughters Betty Wheeler (Junior), Florence SC, Khalid's Boyd Pringletown, SC, Kimberly Rabon, Ladson SC, Shania Rabon, Ladson SC, and Heather Hazel, Summerville SC; one sister Shirley Primus; two brothers Dennis Boyd (Sharon) and Henry Boyd (Janie); 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; Special friends with Keith McCravy and Robert Shaw.
