Obituary
JohnWesley 'Red' Lewis, son of the late
Rebecca Lewis and the late Charlie Britt,
departed this life onWednesday
September 17, 2008 after a hard fought
battle.
Born and reared in the Texas community,
he received his secular education in
Dorchester County Schools after which he
relocated to New York and worked in
construction until his retirement. He
subsequently moved back to St. George in
2002.
On June 6, 2008, Red dedicated his life to
Jehovah, in water baptism and was an
active, dedicated witness and member of
the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah'sWitnesses.
To know Red was to love Red, a dedicated
father, brother, uncle and friend. He
leaves to cherish his memory, his pride and
joy – daughter: Breannah Lewis; two
brothers:Willie Britt (Ethel), Nathaniel
(Annie); five sisters: Aldonia Daniels,
Naomi Simpson, Annie Britt Goldston,
Daisy Brothers, Gloria Britt; a host of
nieces, nephews who affectionately called
him 'Uncle Red'; cousins Idella Primus,
Betty Brunson, LeroyWilliams, and Elden
Williams; dedicated friends of the Christian
Congregation
