John Thomas Murray was born May 20, 1951 to the late Rudolph and Marie Murray.  He lived in the Cattle Creek area then later moved to Maple Branch Road in Reevesville, South Carolina.  On October 8, 2025, God's Heavenly Angel came to take him home.

John was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County. John worked various jobs throughout his lifetime.

After accepting the Lord as his personal Savior, John joined Bethel # 2 Pentecostal Holiness Church in Reevesville, South Carolina.

John was married to the late Margaret Rasberry Murray.  To this union one son was born, Thomas James Murray.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four siblings, Ema Lewis, Larry Murray, Laureena McCloud and Jeanette Murray.

John will be missed by one son, Thomas  James Murray of Columbia, SC; one granddaughter, JaZiyah Williams of Summerville, SC; three brothers, Deacon Rudolph Murray of Alpaca FL, Pastor Carl (Geraldine) Murray of Warner Robert, GA and Daniel Murray of Warner Roberts, GA; two sisters, Apostle JoJina (Jeffrey) Mitchell of Baltimore, MD and Edna Murray of Elizabeth, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Deloris Oliver of Branchville, SC and Rose Z. Wamer of St. George, SC; two brothers-in-law, Ellis M. Rasberry of Harleyville, SC and Kleiman (Wanda) Rasberry of Branchville, SC; a host of relatives and extended family: The Warrens, The Jenkins and The Dunmeyers and Carrie Riley.
