John Hunt, III departed this life August 9, 2013 at his home in Bowman, SC.

He was born August 4, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY, to Ruby Hunt Stephens and John Hunt, Jr.

John was educated in the public schools of Columbia, SC and New York.

John was a business owner and skilled in auto mechanics and carpentry.

John was very sociable and made his presence known wherever he went. John loved to travel, laugh, and have a great time. John was a delight to his friends and family; he will be warmly remembered and missed by his friends and family.

John leaves to cherish his fond memories, his son, Andre Hunt, IV of Chester, SC; his mother, Ruby M. Stephens of Columbia, SC; his father, John Hunt, Jr., of Summerville, SC; his sister, Sharon Hunt of Charlotte, NC; his grandson, Andre' Cleve Hunt, Jr., of Chester, SC; a niece, Alisha A. Hunt of Richmond, Virginia; a special friend, Vivian Edmond of Columbia, SC; his grandfather, Maye Hodges of St. George, SC; aunts, Elizabeth Moorer and Rosalee White of Summerville, SC; Frances (Nathaniel) Riley, Dorothy Stokes, and Christine Hodges of St. George, SC; uncles, Harry Lee (Grace) Hunt of Summerville, SC; and Richard Hodges of St. George, SC; and a host of cousins, friends and Masonic Lodge Brothers.
