Mr. John Gary, Jr. the son of the late John Sr. and Josephine Wiley Gary was born on August 17, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA. He departed this world on October 6, 2010 after an extended illness.

He attended the public schools of Philadelphia, PA. He later entered the army in 1948 as a Private First Class. He ended his military career in 1958 as corporal of the 96th Field Artillery Battalion.

John furthered his education by graduating in 1983 with a degree in Psychology from Cheyne State University. In 1991 he retired from the VA Hospital in Coatsville, PA.

John was joined in holy matrimony to the late Gloria Adams in 1986.
John loved to talk, it did not matter what the topic was he always had words. Even through his illness John still had a good spirit and never complained. He always said, "Let's go get some hotcakes".

John was preceded in death by Vertell Bryant, Estell Gary, Norman Gary, Leonard Gary and Evelyn Gary.

John leaves to cherish his memories: two children, Diane (Ishuman) Johnson-Moses and Franklin Roundtree; three granddaughters, Takea (Sarvarlus) Johnson-Gardner, Dana (Joey) Harris and Yolanda Warren; five great grand children, John & Yasir Price, Sincere Harris, Javari Simmons and Jaylen Warren; one brother, Clarence Gary of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters, Constance Gary and Gladys Gary both of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Sims of Harleyville, SC and Sylvina Gary of Philadelphia, PA ; two special nieces, Wanda Willis and Rochelle Gary and a host of nieces and nephews. "A special appreciation is bestowed to John's caregiver, his granddaughter, Dana Harris".
