Obituary

Jenette Griffin Hicks was born on December 26, 1947, to Lizzie Griffin and the late Will T. Griffin in St. George, SC. She graduated from Williams Memorial High School of St. George, SC in 1966. Upon her graduation from high school, she worked as a teacher's aide for a year before migrating to New York where she became employed at Brokerage Transaction Service, Inc., for eight years as a Data Entry Clerk and later became employed with Weiss Peck & Greer for six years. Her love of children later led her to become a devoted foster mother. Jenette was a free spirited and outgoing person who loved to entertain and feed her friends and family.

For over twenty years, she has been a devoted member of "Little Rock Baptist" Church in Brookly, NY. while attending Little Rock Baptist Church, she became the President of the Usher Board, and a Sunday School teacher and served on the Breakfast Ministry and she also helped in the Soup Kitchen.

She was preceded in death by one brother, George Griffin.

She leaves to mourn: two sons, Bernard (Keisha) Elmore and Lenard Elmore of South Carolina, two daughters, Shamara Hicks and Sabrina Hicks, a granddaughter, McKenize Hayes of South Carolina; a grandson, Jordan Elmore of South Carolina; three sisters, Betty Vaughan-King (Felton) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Gladys H. (Rev. Frank) Moses of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and Bernice Griffin of St. George, South Carolina, one brother, Raymond (Lue Ellen) Griffin of St. George, South Carolina; the Hicks and Hutchinson family, a devoted niece, Alicia Vaughan-Offott, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.
