Jaques Tyrese Grant, the oldest son of Artinia (Antonio) Hopkins and R.L. Grant, Jr. departed this life on September 1, 2026 at Trident Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Natasha Goodwin; grandfathers, David Johnson and Charlie Willis.

Jaques was born April 28, 1999 in Summerville, SC. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of St. George, SC. Jaques attended and graduated from Woodland High School class of 2017. He was a part of Woodland’s Varsity Soccer Team, Woodland’s Varsity Football Team and Woodland High School Band. He worked for Skynards Bar and Grill. He spent the last 2 ½ years at College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving of Charleston, SC as a manager.

He leaves to cherish wonderful memories, three children, Jaques Tyrese Grant, Jr., Theory Jamiya Grant and Khalani Kadajah Grant; five sisters, Teona Goodwin, LaKayla Hopkins, Trinitee Hopkins, Amiyah Hopkins and Ariyana Grant; one brother, R-Lon Grant; godmother, Katrina Cyrus; two godbrothers, Travis Neals and Jaquarius Hezekiah; grandparents, Cindy Willis, and James R.L. (Louise) Grant; great grandparents, Jacob Myers, and James (Evelyn) Williams; aunts, Charlene Goodwin, Shakayria Willis, Mahagony Martino, Wyteria Linder, Ashley Pelzer, Angie Martino, Janiquea Rhames, and Chantal Martin; uncles, Tyrus (Yolanda) Willis, Brad Martino, Bernard Grant, Carlos Martino, Rayshaw Johnson, Datrell Johnson and Quentin (Tosha) Williams, Clifford Willis, and McKenzie Willis; three nephews, Jai’haire Ahnesty Neptune, Trentis Stephens and Taedyn Stephens; friend, Kimya Gavin and special friend, Corey Douglas; special aunt, Margie Goodwin; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
