James White was born on August 24, 1948 in Ridgeville, South Carolina to the late George and Oriana White. James was called home on January 27, 2014 from St. George Health Care Center.

James attended public schools in Dorchester County where he received his high school diploma from Jenkins Hill and later became a certified welder. James was a "jack of all trades" who was called on by many to complete jobs they needed done.

James was preceded in death by his sister, Lula Calloway and his brother, Robert Pinkney.

James leaves to cherish memories, his wife, Philippine White of Harleyville, SC; one loving and devoted son, Jovan White of Harleyville, SC; two sisters, Carrie White of Summerville, SC and Venus Simms of Harleyville, SC; two grandchildren Zaharmony Clayton of Summerville, SC and Ravon White of Cross, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
