Jacob "Dick: Brown had finish his course and entered into eternal rest, Sunday, March 6, 2016, peacefully at Covenant Dove Hospice, Orangeburg, SC.

He was born on March 14, 1945 in Vance, SC to the late Celia Brown and the late Leon Gilmore. At an early age he joined Mt. Olive AME Church. He was educated in the public schools of Holly Hill, Orangeburg County.

His passion was fishing, watching Western Movies and Soap Operas. Jacob loved his children and grandchildren.

Jacob was proceeded in death by his mother Celia Brown and father Leon Gilmore, Grandmother Riley White-Brown who reared him in her home and a cousin reared like a sister Jannie B. Williams.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: His surviving children; Shena D. Gamble of Columbia, SC and Deleasera R. Rogers of Bowman, SC ; One brother, John Henry Gilmore of Connecticut; four Grandchildren, Paris Bookard, Karl Gamble, Jr., Jake Bookard and Karson Gamble; A Special Aunt, Ollie Mae Johnson of Santee, SC; Special Cousins, Julia Abraham of Maryland, Tommy Clay Johnson, Maebelle Johnson, David Johnson, Mary Jean Johnson, Brenda Johnson, Bernard Johnson and Danny Johnson; a host of other cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
