Isiah Joyner son of the late Willie Joyner, Sr. and Ollie Mae Gadson Joyner was born on February 23, 1953. After a long battle with cancer, the Lord saw fit to ease his suffering and called him home to glory on August 1, 2016.
Isiah, "Papa Joe", as he was lovingly called by his grandchildren, grew up in the Texas Community of St. George. At the age of 18 he joined the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country for two years. After his military service, Isiah worked many years in construction until he retired.
Isiah was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles, and Willie (Bubba), Jr., sisters Nettie Ruth and Linda, and nephew Anthony.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy, his beloved son and daughter-in-law, Deshaun (Bernadette) Hassell of Hampton, VA; five grandchildren, Justin, Taylor, Genesis, Israel and Aaliyah all of Hampton, VA; a niece, Joanne Wade of St. George, SC; one great nephew; one great niece; an array of other family and friends.
