Irene Rasberry Britt was born on October 20, 1938 in Branchville, SC to the late James and Lizzie Bryant Rasberry. Irene was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2018.

Irene was educated in Dorchester County Public Schools. At an early age she joined Jericho Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years until her health declined. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, talking on the phone, and spending time with her family.

She was united in holy matrimony on May 29, 1959 to the love of her life, the late John Willie Wesley Britt. This union was blessed with 11 children and 4 grandchildren that they raised as their own: Laquisha Britt, Abesha Britt, Aqualea Britt and Jermica Dacus.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Britt; two sons, Henry Clay Britt and Johnnie B. Britt; and two grandsons, Ejonte Britt and DiMickie Green.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sons, Willie (Renee) Britt of Augusta, GA, and Robert (Patrica) Britt of St. George, SC; seven daughters, Arlene (Alfred) Ross, Lizzie Green, Willa Britt and Linda Campbell all of St. George, SC, Annie Reeves, Christine (David) Syphrett and Ida (Jeremiah) Dacus all of Reevesville, SC; Twenty-three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roosevelt Rasberry of Reevesville, SC and Robert (Nancy) Rasberry of Columbia, SC; one sister, Emma Rhett of Columbia, SC; one daughter-in-law, Villa Britt of Reevesville, SC; a special cousin/friend Johnnie Mae Lewis of St. George, SC and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
