Mr. Hollis Arthur Banks departed this life on Friday, June 16, 2023 at his home in Reevesville, South Carolina.  He was born October 13, 1936, the son of the late William and Mary Banks.

Arthur as he was known by family and friends, lived in North Carolina in his younger years and later moved to New York.  He met and married his loving wife, Mary Ruth Gilbert.

Arthur was a long-distance truck driver.  He drove across country for over fifty years.

He was preceded in death by his wife and his great granddaughter, Jennifer Jenkins.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories his three sons, Hollis Banks, Jr., Derrick Banks and Fitzgerald Gilbert all of Reevesville, SC; one daughter, Regina Gilbert of Brooklyn, New York; four sisters-in-law, Pearlie Mae (Jerry-deceased) Boyd, Vivian (Willie) Rice, Emma (Marvin-deceased) Britt, and Delores and Jackie Evans; eleven grandchildren, Valencia N. Gilbert, Jhesi Gilbert, Lasha Gilbert, Viandra McCarthy, Itainya Ling, Michelle Ling, Rashe Ling, Faith Banks, Jaqalin Gilbert, Vandalia Mercius and Maryonna Banks; seven great grandchildren, Nokya Edwards, Eyn Edwards, Victor Felder, Javaya Felder, Kadeem Solomon, and Kaison Solomon; one great, great grandchild, Skylar Acosta; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
