Henry Salley, son of the late John Henry and Catherine Salley was born on May 6, 1951 in St. George, South Carolina. He was the fifth child of eight children.
Henry was called to eternal rest on April 16, 2013 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
He started his early education in Dorchester County of SC. Shortly after, he moved to NY where he continued his education, graduating from Alexander Hamilton Vocational Technical High School. In 1968 he met his wife Beatrice (Wina) Salley. They were united in holy matrimony on June 10, 1972. Their union was blessed with four sons.
Henry was a hard-working man, father and grandfather. He was a loving husband who took pride in providing for his family. He was employed at American Water for over 24 years and was looking forward to retiring and relocating to Atlanta, GA.
Henry was such a loving grandfather. He loved his grandchildren more than anyone could imagine. As the grandchildren would call him, "Pop Pop" he would pick them up and take them to Chuck E. Cheese, Dave & Buster or out for a simple meal to McDonald's. His grandchildren would light his world and kept him smiling.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, L.V., Leroy and Anthony (Tony).
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted and loving wife, Beatrice (Wina) Salley; four sons, Henry Lamont Salley of Roosevelt, NY, Abdul Salley of Roosevelt, NY, Malcolm (Jasmin) Salley of Atlanta, GA and Matthew Salley of Roosevelt, NY; seven grandchildren, Ajahlei, Tywan, Malachi, Jaylen, Malcolm Jr., Kennedy and Jada.
