Mrs. Hazel Rodd passed from this life into eternal life on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 7:55 pm at home, after a short illness.
Hazel was born October 12, 1931 in Dorchester County. She was the daughter of the late Adam (Ting) McFadden and Blundell (Blunt) Snellings. She grew up in the bend of Harleyville, SC. She attended the public schools of Dorchester County.
Hazel was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Harold Rodd, Sr. on February 7, 1960. She was employed at Home Furniture Company and Sylvania, as an elevator operator in York, PA for serval years, until she was disabled. In 1979 she relocated to South Carolina, where she did home care, and took care of the elderly people.
Hazel's daughter, Barbara Jean Elmore, daughter-in-law, Kimberly Rodd and grandson, Ajani Miller preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish sweet memories, three sons, Harold Rodd, Jr. of Harleyville, SC, Gary Rodd of Summerville, SC and Bernard Joyner of York, PA; four grandchildren whom she raised, Farren Perry, Justin Rodd, Octavia Rodd and Olivia Rodd all of the home; two sisters-in-law, Thelma (Lennen) Smalls and Francis Coaxum of Charleston, SC; brother-in-law, Minister Sylvester (Beverly) Rodd of Charleston, SC; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a special cousin, Marion Simmons; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a very special friend, who she loved so dearly, her dog Bella.
