Obituary

Hazel Britt Bunche was born April 3, 1923 to the late hattie Stevens Britt and Nathan Britt. She transitioned from natural life Sunday morning August 7, 2011 with her daughter and granddaughter holding her hands.

In her early years, she was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church. She later became a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in her adult years. She rededicated her faith and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in the last few years of her life.

Her passion was caring for her family, the home and children. She also loved cooking and baking when she was able to do so. Her personality was one that adults and children gravitated to easily. Even in the last few years and months of her life, whenever she saw a baby, she would light up and start smiling.

On September 17, 1938, she married James "Jimmy" Bunche, who preceded her in death. To this union, six children were born; four preceded her shortly after their birth.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, one son, Simon (Deborah) Bunche of St. Petersburg, FL; one devoted daughter of the home, Mary P. Bunche; an adopted daughter, Louise Bunche Thompson of Jamaica, NY; daughter-in-law, Blanch Bunch of Seminole, FL; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grands; 5 great-great grands; two sisters-in-law, Iris N. Britt of St. George, SC and Sara Pecolia Britt of Reevesville, SC; one aunt, Ella Mae Sanders; two devoted nieces, Juanita Bucker and Mary Reid both of St. George, SC; one devoted grand niece, Yvonne Jones of Reevesville, SC; one special cousin/sister, Cory Simmons of Reevesville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, adopted grandchildren, cousins and friends.
