Harris Lemon entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 7, 2017 at UniHealth Post-Acute Care of Bamberg, South Carolina. Harris was born February 15, 1937, the son of Smith and Beatrice Lemon. He was the third of a sibling group of eight.
Harris was educated at Utsey Elementary in Grover, South Carolina. He was employed at Perfect Jacket (Clothing Factory) as a Foreman for 23 years in Philadelphia, PA. He retired and later worked at a Service Station until he moved to South Carolina.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ruby Barton Lemon on July 7, 1960. This union was blessed with two children, Patrick Lemon and Clay Lemon.
Harris was preceded in death by one son, Clay Lemon and three brothers, Leroy, James and Mack.
Harris leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving and devoted wife, Ruby Barton Lemon of St. George, SC; one son, Patrick Lemon of Philadelphia, PA; three grand children, Roxanne Lemon, Roya Lemon and William Knox all of Philadelphia, PA; one great granddaughter, Matilda Lemon; four siblings, Barbara (Frank) White of St. George, SC; Marvie (Michael) Brown, Sr. of Harleyville, SC, Ruby (Calhoun) Pooser of Grover, SC and Annie (Artis) Dozier of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters-in-law, Eloise Martino of St. George, SC, Florie Edwards of Greenwood, SC and Floria Barton of Orangeburg, SC; special nephews, Master Clyde A. Washington and Master Kristian D. Brown; two devoted cousins, Bernice Rollins and Mary D. Singletary; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
