Obituary

Mr. Harold Rodd, Sr. passed from this life into eternal life on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 8:30 p.m. at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, SC after an extended illness.

Harold was born May 24, 1935 in Charleston County. He was the son of the late Leroy and Frances Rodd. He grew up in the heights area of Charleston, SC where he helped operate the Rodd's Grocery Store. He attended the public schools of Charleston County.

Harold was united in holy matrimony with Mrs. Hazel McFadden on February 7, 1960. To this union two children were born. He later moved his family to York, PA. He was employed by Smurfit Stone Container Corp for 30 years. He was a faithful worker and was well liked by his co-workers and friends. His personality was one of a kind.

One daughter-in-law preceded him in death – Kimberly Rodd.

He leaves to cherish sweet memories: a loving wife, Hazel L. Rodd of the home; two sons, Harold Rodd, Jr. of Harleyville, SC and Gary Rodd of Dorchester, SC; one daughter, Barbara Jean (Vernon) Elmore of York, PA; two sisters, Thelma (Lennen) Smalls and Frances Coaxum both of Charleston, SC; two brothers, Author Rodd of Estill, SC and Pastor Sylvester (Beverly) Rodd of Charleston, SC; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
