On the morning of March 8, 2017 Gloria succumbed to her illness and answered the Masters call.
Gloria was born March 27, 1948 to the late Lawton Thompson and Victoria Felder-Thompson. She grew up in Ridgeville, South Carolina and attended Dorchester County public schools. She graduated from Alston High School. Gloria married James Felder. To this union they had three children; Craig B. Felder, Gloria L. Felder, and James A. Felder (whom preceded her in death).
Gloria was a home health care worker and worked for Dorchester County District 2 until her health began to fail. She was a dedicated and lifetime member of Greater New Hope AME Church, where she joined at an early age. She served faithfully on the Pastors Aid Board.
Gloria was a very soft spoken, quiet-spirited, and giving individual. She was well respected and loved by all who knew her.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Lawton and Victoria Thompson, two brothers, Carol Thompson and Donald Thompson.
Those left to cherish her memories are: son, Craig Felder (Valarie); daughter, Gloria L. Felder; grandchildren, Glo'lavonta Evans, Jaquez Lowe, Aalayla Cook, Craig B. Felder, Jr., Precious T. Felder, Denise L. Felder, LaRonda Kennedy (Lester), Emillio Felder, Nyocca Felder; four great grandchildren; god children, Willie Thompson and Terry Hughes (Timothy); brothers, Samual Thompson (Della), Tonnie Thompson (Rosa Mae); sisters, Shirley White (Sinclair Jr.), Lizzie Thompson and Rosa Thompson; special daughters, Eartha L. Thompson and Lorene Riley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
