Gloria Duggins was the oldest daughter of the late Matthew and Carolyn Frazier Duggins. She was born September 27, 1950 in St. George, SC. She departed this life at Trident Hospital after a brief illness on Monday, January 16, 2012.
At an early age she joined Good Hope Baptist Church. When she returned home, she joined Shiloh FBH Church in the Byrd's Community of St. George, where she served as Youth Coordinator with great joy. She was a very faithful member.
She attended the Public Schools of Dorchester County and graduated from Williams Memorial High School.
She relocated to Newark, New Jersey, where she was employed by Essex County Department of Social Services for 25 years. For a brief time she was employed as a health care worker at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC. She enjoyed working to help children and needy people.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Harold Louis Duggins and to this union two children were born.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and children; her son, Harold and her daughter, Michelle. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, Calvin and Virgil.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: four sisters, Barbara Lawton, Peggy (Herbert) Seabrook, Debra (Johnny) Baxter and Nikita Duggins all of St. George, SC; one brother, Dwight Duggins of St. George, SC; two uncles, Fred S. (Helen) Frazier of Brooklyn, NY and Harry (Danielle) Frazier of Columbia, SC; three aunts, Ruth McBride of St. George, SC, Dora T. Duggins and Verna Duggins of both Brooklyn, NY; one granddaughter, Keisona Duggins and one grandson, Trayvon Abdul Duggins both of Newark, NJ; three grand aunts, Martha Rumph of Cedaerhurst, NY, Carrie Ethel Thomas of Brooklyn, NY and Thelma Webster of Queens, NY; a special niece, Andrea Robinson; special friends and classmates, Annie Lee Simmons Dereef and Betty Lee Rolack and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
