On Friday morning January 30, 2015, the angel of death beckoned Gloria Jean Berry Boyd and she made her transition into life eternal.

Gloria was born one of seven children to the late Robert and Edith Berry on September 30, 1946. Gloria attended the public schools of Dorchester County, where she graduated from Kennedy High School in May 1966. At an early age she became a member of St. Paul AME Church.

Gloria was united in holy matrimony to Louis Elijah Boyd. This union was blessed with two children: Shonda and Rahshid Boyd and one adopted child, Anita Martino.

Gloria was preceded in death by one brother, Robert L. Berry.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her loving husband, Louis E. Boyd; one daughter, Shonda Boyd of St. George, SC; one son, Rahshid Boyd of St. George, SC; stepson, Gerald Gilbert of Reevesville, SC; her siblings, Ruth Simmons, Nettie Cusack, Elizabeth Berry, Philipstine Berry, Philippine White, Celestine Brown and Harvey (Darlene) Sweat; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one devoted grandson, Keysheed Boyd; three sisters-in-law, Susie Woodard of NY, Evelyn Weiters and Mildred Boyd both of St. George, SC; three brothers-in-law, Vern (Perlie) Boyd, Gene (Betty) Boyd and Leonard (Judy) Boyd all of St. George, SC; two aunts, Loretta Simmons and Lillie Black; two uncles, George T. Inabinett and Orlando Inabinett; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
