Gerald Haynes Moore, Jr. is affectionately known to family and close friends as "Fatty" was born on September 25, 1974, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Gerald Hayes Moore, Sr. and Charlene Moore. He departed this life on December 4, 2019, in Saint George, South Carolina.
Gerald was a quiet and lovable child that never gave his parents any trouble. He attended P.S. 215 the Lucretia Mott Elementary School. During this time he was an avid athlete and played in the Rockaway Little League. Gerald attended I.S. 53 Middle School and Far Rockaway High School where he continued to pursue his love of sports on the football team.
Gerald became a loving father to a beautiful baby girl named Jazzel Moore from his union with Nicole Moore.
Later on in life, he attended North Carolina Central University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Gerald Moore continued to remain active in sports by playing on a local traveling wheelchair basketball team. He worked as a substitute teacher in the Durham Public School System. Upon leaving Durham, North Carolina Gerald joined the ERSSC, in the title of Keen as an intake Specialist. He then transitioned to the SUSO Program, as a Family Support Worker in Washington, D.C.
Gerald leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Jazzel that he loved and adored, his parents, Gerald Hayes Moore, Sr. and Charlene Moore, his siblings; Shon (Joy), Melanie (Wayne), Yashika (Christopher), and Corinne (Michael), a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
