George "Big G" was born June 20, 1939 in Harleyville, SC to the late William Branch and the late Florence Mack.  He was raised by his adopted mother, the late Carrie Collier.

George was the husband of the late Jannie Bell Adams Bryant.  They were married on July 20, 1958.  The two were married for sixty years until Jannie Bell departed life on Wednesday morning, April 17, 2019.

At an early age, George joined Bethlehem Baptist Church.  He was reared and lived in the same community all his life and graduated from Kennedy High School in Dorchester County. He was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad Company for thirty-six years until his retirement.

George Bryant was preceded in death by his siblings: Eddie Junior Youngs (Cannonball), Frank Neals, Mattie Neals, all of Harleyville, SC and Frazier Mack of New York.  He was also preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Gussie Mae Brown of Kingstree, SC; four brothers-in-law, Levi Adams and John P. Adams both of Harleyville, SC and Eddie Adams and Grady Adams of East Orange, NJ.

George Bryant slipped peacefully away Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Trident Medical Center.

Left behind to cherish his memories, George leaves, his children, Abigale Thurston of Harleyville, SC, Matilda Woods of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ludrean Bryant of Goose Creek, SC, Ivory Dingle of Summerville, SC, Georgia (Jimmy) Cook of Byron, GA, Ronnie Bryant of Goose Creek, SC, and Donnie Bryant of Ladson, SC; adopted son, Bernie Geddis (Bambi) of Columbia, SC; one sister, Carolina Brown of Walterboro, SC; four sisters-in-law, Clay Frances Adams of Miami, FL, Pernell Nesbit of Georgetown, SC, Ella Ruth Shaw of Kingstree, SC and Georgia Adams of St. George, SC; one brother-in-law, James Nesbit of Miami, FL; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
