Mr. Gentry Jamison, better known as "Donnie Boy" was born in Dorchester County on October 6, 1955 to the late AZ Jamison and Rosa Mae Daniels Jamison.  On December 18, 2024 Gentry entered eternal rest.

Gentry was educated in Dorchester County and graduated from St. George High School in 1974.  Soon after graduating from high school, Gentry joined the United States Army where he served for twenty-one years before retiring.  After retiring, he worked with the United States Coast Guard in which he retired again.  He continued to work at the Charleston County Parks and NAS Fitness Center at the Naval Weapon Station in Goose Creek, SC.

Gentry joined Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  After retiring, he joined New Hope AME Church where he was a dedicated Steward, Trustee, choir member as well as President of the Sons of Allen.

On September 2, 1978, Gentry and Blondell Cobbs were joined together in holy matrimony.  This union blessed them with two children, Marcus and Chaquilla.  From that point Gentry referred to his family as the "Four Horsemen."

Gentry was preceded in death by his two sisters, Adline Williams and Viola "Vickie" Heyward and two brothers, Gregory Jamison and Anthony Jamison.

Gentry leaves to cherish loving and lasting memories to his wife Blondell Jamison of forty-six years; his son Jermaine LaMarcus Cobbs; daughter, Chaquilla Jamison (Solomon) Green; granddaughter, Mya Alexis Green; grandson, Solomon Jayden Green and his loyal dog, Benny.

Gentry's memories extend to his sisters, Rozena (Clyde) Washington, Mary Ann (Theodore) Britt, Louverne (Robert Lee) Britt, Sandra (Frankie) Lewis, and Vanessa Williams; brothers, Sammy (Shirley) Jamison, and Joe Edward (Patricia) Jamison; brothers-in-law, Leroy Heyward, Joseph (Patrice) Martino, Julius Frazier, Ricky Martino, and Billie Cobbs, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Thareta Frazier and Gloria Martino; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
