Friday, July 6, 2012 while the dew was still on the roses God saw that one of his children was getting weary. He called Freddie, as he was lovingly called, and he answered.
He bid no one a last good-bye, he just swiftly answered the call, and said Lord here I am.
Frederick Lamont Mays was born to Sheridan Mays and Andrew Washington on August 7, 1975 at the Medical University Hospital in Charleston, SC.
Freddie, as he was lovingly called, was a lifelong resident of Dorchester County. He was a 1995 graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School.
At an early age he joined Elem Baptist Church, where he remained his entire life.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sinclair and Elizabeth Elmore Mays and paternal grandparents, J.L. and Annie Jean Washington, two uncles and one aunt.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving and devoted mother Sheridan Mays and his father, Andrew Washington; his devoted aunt Shemeter Mays of Harleyville, SC; one brother, four aunts, four uncles, five grand aunts and his special friend Kimberly Attles and three daughters; close friend David Barnwell and other relatives and friends.
