Obituary

Franklyn Christopher Alleyne passed away Thursday, January 28 th , 2021 in his home with his family by his side.

Frank (as he was affectionately known) was born June 9 th , 1932 in Barbados, West Indies to Gwendolyn and Seibert Alleyne.  In 1957 he moved to England where he worked at the Post Office.  He later worked at the transportation system.  In 1972 he relocated to Brooklyn, New York where he worked at the Elmhurst Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician. He retired in 1991 to South Carolina with his wife Lillian.  There he spent 15 years volunteering for Meals on Wheels.  Frank was also a foster parent for more than 10 years to over 15 children.  He enjoyed going to church and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Men.

Franklyn is survived by his wife, Lillian and his step children, Linda (Vernanders) Black, Victor Gilbert, and Timothy Emanuel; his daughters, Patsy Carter Furlonge of London; his former wife, Marjorie Alleyne and their children, Dona Ash of New York, Trevor (Richardine) Alleyne of Barbados, David (Juel) Alleyne of New Jersey, and Adrian (Catherine) Alleyne of Florida.  He is also survived by his sisters, Cesely Francis, and Stephanie (Treva) Campbell both of Brooklyn, New York, Maria Scanterbury of London, England and his brothers, Lindsay and Leaver (Heather) Alleyne of Barbados, West Indies and his Aunt Syvlia Hinds of Barbados, West Indies.  He leaves many nieces, nephews, grands, great grands and great-great grandchildren behind. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Chesterfield Hinds, Bentley, and Clarence and Norma Alleyne, his sister.
