MRS. FRANCES GREEN RIVERA, was born August 26, 1923, in Washington, DC and later with her parents, the late James and Mary Green, returned to South Carolina. She departed this life on Monday, November 4, 2019, at the Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg, SC.

At an early age, Frances joined Shady Grove United Methodist Church, attended Sunday School and sang on the choir. Later, she moved to New York. Frances continued and completed her education as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Manhattan Psychiatric Center Complex until she retired on June 4, 1987. Frances enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world during her retirement. While living in New York, she joined the Salem Methodist Church and was a faithful member until moving back to South Carolina to care for her sister.

After moving to South Carolina, Frances rejoined Shady Grove United Methodist Church and became a faithful member. She became Class Leader No. 15, member of the Senior Choir, member of United Methodist Women, and was a regular Sunday School member. Frances volunteered at Sojourner Senior Center delivering meals to homebound seniors. She was a good Samaritan, always willing to help and serve those in need. She
served unselfishly until her health declined. Frances was the oldest member of the McCants/Green Family.

Frances was the youngest of six children. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Green; and sisters, Roseann Daniels, Wilhemenia Rivers, Artlee Dawkins, and Mattie Brown.

Frances leaves to cherish fond memories: her loving nieces, Doris Thomas, Mary Thomas, and Rosa Glover; nephews, Edward Dawkins and James Dawkins. She is also survived by a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and friends.
