Obituary

Floyd Cummings, the second youngest child of the late Ernest Cummings and the late Thelma Glover Cummings was born November 24, 1967 in St. George, SC. He departed this life for a place of eternal rest on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at MUSC Orangeburg Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC.

Floyd affectionately known as "Dickie" graduated from St. George High School in 1987. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Dickie was employed at Demphey Hardwood in Orangeburg, SC until his health declined. He also worked at Stone Container and Wilco Pilot Station.

Dickie's favorite pastime was driving around in the community visiting family and friends whom he loved dearly. He will be sorely missed by our family and the community.

Dickie was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, McCoy Glover, John Glover, Ernest Lee Cummings and Eugene Barnwell, and one sister, Dorene Cummings.

Dickie leaves loving memories that will be cherished forever as his family celebrates his life, two sisters, Loretta (Rogers) Glover and Ernestine C. Peden; one brother, Arthur Cummings; aunts, Avon King and Martha C. Glover both of Maryland, Lois Lemon, Annie Mae Hadden, Rosa Mae Glover and Deloris Glover all of St. George, SC, Maggie Glover, Alma (Roosevelt) Matthews, Minnie Lee Breaker, Nellie R. Glover and Bernell Cummings all of Bowman, SC and Geneneve Cummings of New Jersey; uncles, Mack Cummings and Howard Lee (Gertrude) Glover both of St. George, SC and James W. Glover of Clearwater, FL; special cousins, Patricia Carn and Tony Glover; devoted cousins, Laretha Young, Kimresha Glover and Kendra Glover; special nephews, Dominique, Malik, Jamie, Michael, Joshua and Lil' Tony; special friends, Willie "Peter" Glover, Andre Brice, Tommy Washington, William Berry and Shirley Johnson; a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
